In-Office Training Services

  • Technician Skills Assessment

Our consultant assesses and trains your technicians in real-time during patient workups, focusing on techniques, efficiency, and professionalism, without altering the clinic schedule. The practice receives a detailed report on each technician's skills, training provided, and recommendations for future development, including potential leaders and trainers.

  • 5-Day New Technician Bootcamp

Our program trains new clinical staff in essential technician work-up skills over four days, with supervised comprehensive exams on the fifth day, following Best Practices from the AAO and IJCAHPO. We efficiently train groups of 2-6, quickly alleviating staffing shortages and ensuring proper skill development, saving time and money.

  • "Train The Trainer" Program

Both options are designed to enhance training capabilities and accelerate new hire readiness.

Once they demonstrate accuracy within 2 mm Hg of our consultant or your doctor, they'll proceed to measure patients' IOP, with the service accommodating small groups of up to four or more with an additional skilled technician from your team.

  • Premium Lens Options Education & Sales Training

Technicians will be trained on refractive errors related to premium IOLs, focusing on consistent messaging, patient education on options without resorting to sales pitches, simple pricing communication, and techniques to improve premium IOL conversion rates. This comprehensive approach aims to enhance patient understanding and satisfaction with their IOL choices.

This service includes didactic and hands-on training in the principles and optics of streak retinoscopy, working distance calculations, how to identify the two principle meridians and to recognize "with" and "against" motion and neutrality, how to confirm neutrality and axis refinement.

The stress of having to hire and train half of our clinic staff was overwhelming. We decided on a 5-day bootcamp to train 3 new hires, none of which had any prior experience.  The results were phenomenal!!

I have to admit that in the beginning, both the doctor and I were skeptical that all of this could actually be accomplished in five days, but Sharon and Rebecca proved us wrong.
